Abortion is a fundamental human right. On Friday, June 24 the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, reversing a decades’ old precedent that immediately denied bodily autonomy to people with uteruses in many states, with more to follow. This act is sexist, racist, classist, and ableist, and will disproportionately affect low income people and families of color. IMPACT grieves for this decision that upholds America’s history of oppression, but we remain committed to dismantling that legacy by creating a learning space for students to challenge their understanding of oppressive policies and strengthen their tools to topple them.
